We chose the name Heronview because of the amount of Herons who choose to live on our farm.Herons are also my favourite bird. So it was an easy choice to become Heronview Leonbergers. We now also ahve Heronview Alpacas I have been involved with Leonbergers since 1995. I have never looked back. I have had other breeds over the years but Leos are my true heart dogs. We have 3 Leos at the moment and we are planning the addition of our 4th this year. We lost our beloved Hannah in January and even though we have 3 others she left a very huge whole in our family.
Bogie (Kahulalions Braveheart )is 9 years young. He is still full of himself and has so much energy he can keep up with the girls. Bogie is a Canadian Champion and he has sired some very good looking babies. They have become champions themselves. He is now cheering on his grankids as they make their marks in the showring and as theraphy dogs and wonderful family companions.
Savannah and Aliz are our 2 girls. they are both gorgeous girls and have wonderful playful temperments. They run around outside together and both gang up on Bogie. YOu can also find them curled up together. Becareful if you visit! You will ahve one on each side of you givig oyu kisses.
Leo's love kids.Bogie, Savannah and Aliz have so much fun hanging out with the assortment of kids that are always around here. They are not bothered by the running and screaming and can join in a great game of road hockey. They have been great friends to my 2 young boys who like to lay down and talk to them. They cuddle and tell them their big secrets. Leonbergers are very loyal and need to be part of the family. they thrive where they are loved and are part of the families day to day activities. They are not happy if they are kept in a kennel away from day to day activities.
I take breeding Leonbergers very serious. I want to make sure and breed only healthy well adjusted Leonbergers. As a Canadian Breeder I hope to breed Leonbergers as nice as the dogs I have met in Europe.
